Mission Statement

Volunteers are in a unique position to improve the quality of life in our community through engaging in satisfying, challenging volunteer work. The Volunteer Center's mission is to promote volunteerism thorughout the community and to maintain a wide variety of volunteer oportunities which take into account the special needs and interests of all segments of the population, thus enabling all people, regardless of age, race, physical ability or other special circumstances, to share their skills and time in order to extend needed services in Santa Cruz County.

The mission is accomplished by operating two types of programs: those designed to recruit and orient volunteers for placement in other nonprofit agencies; and those providing direct services to address specific needs by the Board, using volunteer services.
